Deane and Norm's Motorcycle Trip to Labrador | |

| Today provided a chance to wash and clean up my
Gold Wing, after riding in the rain yesterday. I started early in
the morning, to be done before the heat of the Kansas day. The more
I got into it, the more I gave it a really thorough cleaning, for all of
the tough conditions Norm and I had ridden in. Before I got through,
I had also polished it. Wow, after all those rainy days, it looks
like a new 2001 motorcycle again!
Del and I had lunch with Wayne Burnett. Wayne, now 85, has been Del's long-time business mentor, partner, and financial consultant, and I enjoy visiting with him whenever I get to Manhattan. Then Del and I had dinner with Del's girlfriend Gay. Gay is always fun, with lots of things going on and bouncing with enthusiasm. Afterward we visited with Del's son, Wayne, his wife Eve, and their 14-month old baby, Faith. What a cute and busy little girl!! She is walking and climbing everywhere, interested in everything going on around her, and is as smart and observant as a baby can be. She surely keeps her parents going! The day ended with sort of a laid-back restful evening, which was what I needed after going pretty hard for quite a few days. |
