Deane and Norm's Motorcycle Trip to Labrador

July 3 - Concord, NC to Greenville, SC - 125 miles

Now it was time to go on to the "Wing Ding" motorcycle rally in Greenville, South Carolina.  This rally is put on by GWRRA (Gold Wing Road Riders Association), of which both Deane and Norm are members.

We left Concord after a leisurely breakfast and many goodbyes to the little kids, and a short visit with Norm's wife Kay's aunt Claylia.

It was an easy ride to Greenville, with threatening clouds but no rain.  As we got closer, more and more Gold Wings appeared, and it wasn't hard to find the convention center - just follow the Gold Wings.  We expect that the attendance here will be on the order of 12,000 to 14,000 people, over the four days of the rally.

After getting registered and looking at some of the vendor's displays, we found our motel.  We managed to just get checked in and get our bikes covered, before the daily rain shower.  We were lucky; other people getting here just a little later got soaked on the way.
